Vision of Riore Afrika Foundation
At the Riore Afrika Foundation, our vision is to create a more equitable world by bridging the gap between the rich and the poor, contributing to global security and prosperity. We start this journey in Nigeria—a country representing 2.85% of the global population but home to 12% of the world’s extreme poor. The quality of life in Nigeria faces immense challenges, with life expectancy approximately 30% below the global average. Over the next 25 years, Nigeria is projected to become the third most populous country worldwide, a shift that presents both vast opportunities and pressing challenges for global stability, security, and growth. What we do today can make all the difference in shaping this future. Our mission focuses on delivering quality and relevant education to disadvantaged communities in Nigeria, empowering them to build systems and pathways to prosperity that benefit both them and humanity.
Currently, it is estimated that Nigeria accounts for about 20 million out of school children which is about 20% of the global number of out of school children. This continues to constitute a regional and global threat to security and prosperity. Our goal is to ensure that there is zero out of school children in Nigeria by 2035. We are dedicated to ensuring that all out-of-school children receive an education within their communities. We work to cultivate a culture that values efficiency, mutual respect, and collaboration, laying the groundwork for a brighter future.
Our Approach to Education
At the Riore Afrika Foundation, we believe in the transformative power of true education—an education that goes beyond the walls of a classroom to instil skills and foster growth. Education isn’t merely about attending school; it’s about equipping children with the abilities they need to contribute meaningfully to society. Learning can take place in diverse settings, from public or private schools to homeschooling, or even under the shade of a mango tree. Our mission is to create and support the right learning environment for every child, wherever they may be.
Our Philosophy on Support and Sustainability
Our approach is built on empowerment, not dependency. Handouts, while well-intentioned, can limit the potential of individuals and communities, leading to dependency and underutilization of their natural gifts. Instead, our programs focus on empowering people, building confidence, and unlocking capabilities. By equipping communities with tools, knowledge, and skills, we foster sustainable progress and enable individuals to thrive independently.
